ABOUT

Teamless exists because marketing teams keep relearning what they already knew.

Why Teamless exists

Built from a problem I kept running into.

I've spent my career in marketing, most recently running demand generation for B2B software. The frustrating part was rarely a lack of data. It was reconstructing why we'd made a decision months earlier.

The results were always somewhere: the CRM, the ad platforms, a dashboard. The reasoning was harder to find. Why that audience, what we had expected, what changed halfway through, what we had agreed to do differently next time. Those answers lived in old decks, Slack threads, meeting notes and people's memories.

Better brief templates and more disciplined retros helped. They didn't create institutional memory that the next campaign could actually use. Each planning cycle still started closer to zero than it should have.

Teamless is my answer to that: a system built around the decision record of a campaign, so what a team learns can inform what it does next.

The problem

Marketing organizations forget in predictable ways.

Campaigns end and attention moves on. Planning cycles reset. Programs change hands. The loss is structural. Work is split across systems, priorities change, and the reasoning a later campaign needs becomes harder to recover. What is marketing memory?

Principles

What Teamless is built on.

  1. The team responsible for the campaign owns the learning.

Results are observations. What they mean is a judgment that should be made by the people closest to the work.

  2. Evidence should stay attached to the conclusion.

Without its evidence, a lesson is harder for a later team to evaluate. Keep the conclusion connected to what informed it.

  3. Learning should be revisable when evidence changes.

Lessons are current beliefs. Reinforcing, qualifying or retiring them is part of keeping memory honest.

  4. Memory should surface when relevant, not become another archive.

The goal is the right context for the campaign in front of you, not a bigger folder.

  5. Your existing stack should keep doing its job.

CRMs, marketing platforms and analytics should keep doing the jobs they were designed for. Teamless is concerned with the context that connects one campaign to the next.
